Location & Transport


The Celebration will be held at Camp Kaitoke just 45 minutes drive from the City. Camp Kaitoke is set in 38 acres of farmland and native bush which borders onto Kaitoke Regional Park and at the foothills of the Rimutaka Ranges. There are many access routes to native forest walks.

Transport

Getting to Camp Kaitoke
Driving

If coming from Wellington head north on SH2. After approximately 50km turn left onto Marchant Road (you can't miss the big YMCA Camp Kaitoke sign). Then after 2km turn right onto Kiwi Ranch Road.

If coming south from SH1 you can access SH2 by coming over the Haywards from Paremata SH58. Then head north on SH2 for approximately 25km and turn left onto Marchant Road as detailed above.

If coming south on SH2 having descended the Rimutaka Hill Road, turn right onto Marchant Road at Pakuratahi.

Car parking is available at the venue.

Public Transport

Camp Kaitoke is approximately 20 minutes driving time from Upper Hutt train station. We are offering a limited pick-up/drop off service between Upper Hutt train station and the venue.

Arrival by Bus
There is a regular bus service between Wellington airport, Wellington train station and Upper Hutt train station. Please visit Route 91 and Route 110 for details of timetables. Click "change the date" to view timetables for Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.
Airport to Queensgate costs approximately $12.
Queensgate to Upper Hutt train station costs approximately $5.50.
The combined bus journeys can take up to 1 hour 45 minutes.

Arrival by Bus and Train
Catch the Airport Flyer Bus (Route 91) at Wellington Airport, get off at Molesworth Street Stop (next to Parliament). Cross over Molesworth Street and head down through the subway to Wellington train station. Please allow three to five minutes walking time between bus stop and train station. This bus journey takes approximately 33 minutes.

Airport to Wellington train station costs approximately $9.

Arrival by Train
There is a regular train service from Wellington to Upper Hutt. Train tickets can be purchased on- board the train or at the ticket counter. A one-way journey costs approximately $9.

The Wellington to Upper Hutt journey takes approximately 37 minutes (Wairarapa Line) to 46 minutes (Hutt Valley Line).

Airport Shuttle Bus and Taxis
From the airport to Upper Hutt train station costs approximately $67. From the airport to Camp Kaitoke costs approximately $98.

Taxis
From the airport to Upper Hutt train station costs approximately $135. From the airport to Camp Kaitoke costs approximately $168.
From Upper Hutt train station to Camp Kaitoke costs approximately $50

The pick-up/drop-off services must be booked in advance. Booking for this service will close 48 hours prior to the commencement of the Celebration. There are no other times other than the ones listed above. You can request this service when booking on-line, or by contacting transport@nzdharmacelebration.org
There will be a transportation notice board set up at the Celebration for people to post messages to catch a ride of share a taxi/shuttle. For those participants with cars, please read the messages posted to see if you are able to offer rides to those who need them, your kindness will be greatly appreciated.
